As I'm part of the MOTU team, I guess I should add a couple more details.
One thing I can definitely recommend is the Packaging/Development guide,
as it'll give you an introduction to Ubuntu Development pretty quickly.

While the MOTU team does not have a dedicated 1-on-1 type of mentoring,
there's still a lot of people who are very happy to answer all kinds of
