[Bug 395718] Re: Geotag and the time shift option
I've investigated my boss' Nikon camera. Operator error. When I setup
the clock (he'd never set it), I set it to the time and then selected
"daylight saving" (which advanced the clock by 1 hour). So the clock
was 1 hour fast.
Nadia - can you investigate the settings on your camera and use exiv2 to
inspect the data in the image:
exiv2 -pt <myfile.jpg> | grep -i date
If you're still convinced that there is a bug, please send the image
(and a note about your location/date/time) and I'll investigate.

Bug description:
I sent this to Robin yaesterday and he asked me to open a bug report about it:
I tried the geotag action for the first time on images I took in a recent trip. I had some difficulty fixing the time shift in images. The images time was one hour ahead. But setting the time shift to -3600 didn't work (The location was wrong). I figured the time shift might be in UTC so I changed the time shift to -7200 and that worked! I wonder if this is intentional or a bug.
I took the photos with a Nikon camera. Robin has noticed this behaviour with another Nikon camera and he can reproduce the issue. He has a solution and going to fix it.
Thanks!
Nadi
