Dave,

I've re-examined the code in shownews.php, and it turns out, it's a lot
more complicated than I originally thought. The link is handled in the
template, not the hard code. (It's been awhile since I've reviewed this
portion of code...)

To solve this problem would call for a reform in template management,
and allow "variables" to be used inside the template fields.
Unfortunately, this is too big of a task for a project that has ceased
active development (except major bugs and security bugs).

Feel free to branch the project and "do it yourself". We'll happily
merge it in with our development branch!
