This looks like a known issue [1] with 2.2.11 that should be fixed in
2.2.12.

Are you sure you have installed 2.2.12-1?  It is only available for
Maverick and not present in the repository for Lucid.

Please verify the output of "dpkg -l clive" and/or "clive --version".
