[Bug 1683780] Re: openpgp-applet won't start
Hello again,
I had a quick look. The problem is openpgp-applet needs some sort of
system tray to work, and Unity doesn't provide one anymore.
There is no plan at the moment to add support for native Unity
indicators. There are plans to provide a gnome-shell extension in the
future, once this is done it should be possible to create an indicator
for that (patches welcome).
Meanwhile, you can either use another desktop environment (gnome-shell
works nicely), or use an indicator that will provide a system tray
(there are some PPAs out there, I didn't have time to test it, but check
out https://github.com/GGleb/indicator-systemtray-
unity/blob/master/README.md for instance).
Cheers,
