Message #00001
Content Policy
Hi everyone,
This is a reminder for all authors aggregated on Planet Ubuntu Users to
keep the content fetched by http://ubuntuweblogs.org related to Ubuntu.
I closed my eyes for several posts in the past, but things have been
brought to my attention, and I will no longer accept posts about Windows
Vista or the remake of a kitchen. I don't have a problem with those
subjects, it's just not fit for this type of Planet. Nor is it my goal
to create such website.
The rules are there to make sure we continue to have a quality that not
many Planets have, and it's very unfair when someone follows the rules
and only posts about Ubuntu and other people look for a way of getting
more unique-hits on their website by posting offtopic material to the
Planet.
Don't treat your 'ubuntu' or 'linux' category as 'it-will-get-posted-on-
ubuntuweblogs' category.
In order to give everyone alternatives, I started Ubuntu Universe
(www.ubuntuweblogs.org/universe), which is the correct place for ANY
subject. Be it Windows Vista, your LOLCAT or hockey opinions.
All members of Planet Ubuntu and Planet Ubuntu Users are eligible to be
on this part of the website, and all it takes is a simple email sent my
way.
This message is being sent to the Mailing List, but will also be posted
on UbuntuWeblogs.org Blog (www.ubuntuweblogs.org/blog). This way, no
can't say 'I didn't know'.
No more offtopic posts will be allowed. As I'm sure you remember when
you submitted your weblog:
"Once again I want to inform you that I will not allow offtopic posts on
the Planet. Your weblog will be removed without notice."
All the best,
Tiago
