i tried on an old celeron 1200 (toshiba satellite)

1.6.1 works fine
1.7.1 launched fine but I can't play any song, duration is not displayed, no error message and mixxx freezes hard if i change preferences. But that's an old computer and i know mixxx doesn't support well this kind of hardware.

anyway, 1.6.1 worked fine here, so I don't know why it doesnt work on my
vaio laptop

Bug description:
in the last dev iso I tried (downloaded Sun 9 around 00:00), mixxx won't run!

it just seg faults,

I tested my sound card, it works fine with other software (puredata)

anyway, i noticed it's a very old version of mixxx (1.6.1), I would be more than happy to test the latest (1.7.1) if you build it.

I know there was a problem with libportaudio until 9.04, hopefully it is solved in 9.10
