[Bug 488155] Re: Add jockey-gtk to image

Why this is a wishlist? I would think it would be nice to have in the cd
even. so people can install proprietary drivers easily. It takes 10mb of
dependencies though including synaptic which is not bad to have either.

Bug description:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/jockey-gtk

Jockey is a useful tool for locating hardware drivers not native to the kernel. It is part of the Ubuntu live cd (under the menu entry 'Hardware Drivers.' and detects any hardware drivers not installed automatically. It accesses proprietary drivers, but I am unsure if it locates kernel drivers as well.

It is very useful, however, for locating and installing drivers for certain hardware, such as nvidia and broadcom network cards, without having to compile them manually.
