Thomas, the initial bug reported has been fixed and released in Beta3 so
I close this one.

Make new bug reports for the other issues if you want:
 * a more recent version of Mixxx for future releases/update of Puredyne.
 * to explain why we would have to downgrade libportaudio. A reproducible step by step crash would be needed to consider doing such a drastic thing.

Bug description:
in the last dev iso I tried (downloaded Sun 9 around 00:00), mixxx won't run!

it just seg faults,

I tested my sound card, it works fine with other software (puredata)

anyway, i noticed it's a very old version of mixxx (1.6.1), I would be more than happy to test the latest (1.7.1) if you build it.

I know there was a problem with libportaudio until 9.04, hopefully it is solved in 9.10
