[Bug 505933] Re: look and feel broken with two monitors attached

hi claude, i saw this with puredyne running a demo over the dvd-dev iso
like a month ago, at first i was puzzled but via the Multiple Screens
(grandr) menu option i was able to get the 2 video outputs on their
proper resolutions as you suggest.

considering that every projector (aka video beamer:) or extra monitor
out there has different native resolutions i found it even handy to have
the "greyed" or better, shaded area on my laptop screen so to know what
was to appear on the projected image, but im unsure if this is the same
issue you are having since the image you attach depicts just the
opposite.

Bug description:
14:25 < claude> with second monitor attached on boot, it looks weird...
14:25 < claude> ie: puredyne splash, but standard xfce backdrop
14:26 < claude> and bottom 1/4 of the screen on external monitor looks different
14:26 < claude> ...and it's cropped off the bottom ofthe laptop screen...
14:35 < rob> claude: yes we need a second profile for display 2
14:35 < rob> always annoying when giving a presentation and you loose look and feel on projector
14:37 < claude> rob: it's worse than that here - the different aspect ratio means the panel is not visible on the laptop screen...

workaround for now: look at external monitor to find the terminal icon to click, then run grandr to sort out the monitors...
