[Bug 510115] Re: broadcom wireless driver - b43-fwcutter

I had this exact problem.

Basically, the b43-fwcutter driver is broken. I'm not at my laptop right now,
so I can't give you specifics (I'll do that when I get home) but it's
along these lines.

1. remove the b43-fwcutter driver - it's rubbish
2. open synaptic (or aptitude) and search for "broadcom sta" which
should come up with a package.
3. install that package
4. then go back into Hardware Drivers, and there should be two drivers
listed, the b43 broadcom and "Broadcom STA Proprietary"
5. install the STA driver
6. reboot

Hopefully you should be able to follow that, but I'll go through it
properly when I get home.
