[Bug 510125] Re: delvj on the liveDVD

Hi,

I'm the maintainer of the current packages, and main dev for delvj...
i'll explain the situation :)

0. The project is not dead, on the contrary its been lightly active
lately.

1. There is some administrative problem with the delcorp.org dns, so the
delvj webpage is down for the moment (i hope for not too much time).
Still, the packages and git repo can be found as they're on launchpad
and github.

2. The current version of the packages crashes on some systems, this can
be fixed with not too many problems (there is another version of the
packages on the works, but i need to find the time to tidy up and
upload).

3. -caedes versions of the softwares (pdp and pidip) are incompatible
with the other versions, but they provide them as well, i think that
could be used so they could be seamless replacements, i dont think
making them coexist is an option, as they have some non-trivial changes
to pdp (still, with some time it could be done), pidip would be easier.

4. Other problems... : many of the packages are not distro quality, just
"unofficial" package quality, specially the pidip one, it needs some
work, and most of the pd-* packages provided would need puredata package
to ship more headers.

I would be willing to give permissions to anyone who wants to help on
this, as well as all the possible information. Also through testing of
the packages on 32 on 64 bit would save me some time.

Greetings and thx for the interest!

 Pablo

So, this is basically a wishlist request for the LiveDVD.
