Hi everyone,


Release 0.4.9 is ready to go except for the need to update its 
translations. There is a new option in the preferences, "Verify files as 
they are downloaded", which as you might guess relates to md5 checks to 
ensure files downloaded and backed up without any corruption.

Of greater significance is that I finally managed to fix a bug that 
could cause severe performance problems and crashes. It turns out that 
it arose from the combination of Gnome's GIO file functionality and 
python's multiprocessing. The solution was to remove GIO and replace it 
with regular python file processing. A nice side effect is that the 
program now runs faster than ever before.

I'm hoping there is enough time for 0.4.9 to make it into Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
