[Bug 579689] Re: The boot process breaks randomly at some point, although X starts
Disabling kms by appending radeon.modeset=0 to kernel command line seems
to help. I had 7 clean reboots now. Actually everything is working fine,
but a big part of lxde-logout is now covered by a grey square. After I
switched to fglrx in karmic and decided to use radeon again, I had
something similar in xdm (a black bar covering parts of the password
field). Is there any chance to fix this? (see screenshot)
Mostly I wouldn´t have been able to use kms due to bug 15166 of kernel
bugzilla, but I knew what I had to avoid, so it was not such an issue.
