Message #13118
[Bug 351528] Re: notify-osd won't start (notify-osd:15956): GConf-CRITICAL error
@Mirco,
I'm running Karmic. Following your instructions in #12, I got the patch.
At the terminal, I issued the command patch -p2 < 16_use-
synchronous_notifications.patch from ~/gnome-settings-
daemon-2.28.1/debian/patches>. The command failed because it didn't
know which file to patch.
My greater concern is that I don't want to screw up my other sound
settings. (My webcam microphone required a patch of its own.) I don't
see gnome-settings-daemon-2.28 anywhere else on my system. It is all
gnome-settings-daemon-2.0.
Have you any advice?
