I plan to video each of the problems mentioned - I am using `recordMyDesktop`. Hopefully, this will be useful. I am having difficulties repeating conditions reliably. 
First, I will records the highlight problem: highlighting should not start without mouse down (highlighting as mouse moves while down, and quit when mouse goes up.); problem is that sometimes highlighting starts without mouse being down - it spontaneously starts highlighting a short instance after click of mouse.

Please indicate if there is another way to record.

Result so far, unable to record.
