I just wanted to include some more info. (below). Oh, I noticed that
Ubuntu correctly identified my video, the others did not.
Laptop: Compaq Presario X1000, 1 Mb RAM, Centrino.
Ubuntu 9.04
vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic
and
vmlinuz-2.6.28-19-generic
Work fine when laptop is unpluged and is running on battery power.
