[Bug 663302] Re: Shotwell ignores raw/audio/video files

Shotwell 0.8 will offer video support. Preliminary code is available in
trunk: http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/855 It will import video from disk
and camera. The only format I don't recognize is nrw; I'll ticket that
for possible inclusion.

We currently don't have any plans to support audio files in Shotwell.
Do you have a camera that produces them? Or is it that you have a
collection of media on memory cards and want Shotwell to import them?

Regarding the slowness of the NEF, where are you seeing the slow-down --
during the import stage, or when they've been imported? Shotwell
produces mimic files in the background after import that will speed up
manipulating RAW files. Until those files have been generated Shotwell
falls back on the RAW file to display image. (Depending on the number
of files you've imported, it might take some time.)

Finally, are you copying the RAW files off the card onto local disk, or
linking them from the card into Shotwell? Card readers over USB are
notoriously slow; I would not recommend managing RAW files this way.
