I also see this bug in maverick with KDE 4.5.2.  My ~/.xsession-errors
file contains this line:

(<unknown>:5265): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion
`initialization_value != 0' failed

and process 5265 is:

$ ps aux | grep 5265
bonnaud   5265  0.0  0.4  98628 19784 ?        Sl   17:36   0:00 /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/polkit-kde-authentication-agent-1 -session 10dbdee967000127083187200000058120018_1287588980_249112
