After upgrading to maverick, I'm seeing the same errors as jedioetzi.
It was working fine in lucid.

This is my evolution installed package:
evolution 2.30.3-1ubuntu6

These are the MAPI packages I have installed:
evolution-mapi 0.30.3-1ubuntu1
libexchangemapi-1.0-0 0.30.3-1ubuntu1
libmapi0 1:0.9+svn2158-0ubuntu1
libmapiadmin0 1:0.9+svn2158-0ubuntu1

The error message I get when testing the Authentication from within Evolution is:
Authentication failed.
MapiLogonProvider:MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED
