I've seen Gnome System Monitor take up to 140%(!) CPU resources
(according to the Gnome System Monitor...) on 64-bit Meerkat running on
a 2010 MacBook Pro with quad-core 2.66 GHz processors and 4Gib of RAM.
Wow. My lap gets hot!
