Message #26427
[Bug 284596] Re: nm-applet fails when another user is logged in
Me and my wife share a netbook (Ubuntu 10.10), and are usually both
logged in and just "switch user". Everything works great until the first
logged in user logs out. The netbook including the second user is then
disconnected from the wireless network, and since the second user
doesn't see any network manager applet in the GUI it not obvious how to
reconnect. The only solution I have found that doesn't require opening a
terminal shell is to log out and log in again. The very least there
should be a way to restart the network manager applet in the GUI. This
is a major flaw unless Ubuntu has a stated goal to be a single user
system.
