Ubuntu is a community project, while Canonical invest ressources to work
on it Ubuntu is not limited to Canonical. The bug there just didn't get
tnough duplicates and affect users to be raised until now out of the
number of bug reports sent to launchpad, the ubuntu team will work on
backporting the fix this week though
