Message #28823
[Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
I am using Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) on a DELL PRECISION M4500 (company
notebook). Due to company policy I cannot upgrade to maverick (in fact I
am grateful not to be forced to used plain lenny like many others :-) )
...
Patch from #154 doesn't work on my present 2.6.32-25-generic kernel -
something causes panic.
However, this patch:
https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/118834/
does, with limited functionality.
Attached is a clean version of that patch that works against lucid
kernels.
** Patch added: "Patch of ALPS-Driver to support DELL E2 Touchpads, 2.6.32-Version of this patch: https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/118834/"
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/550625/+attachment/1742503/+files/dell-e2-alps-2.6.32.patch
** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Lucid)
Status: Incomplete => Opinion
