Message #30906
[Bug 550625] Re: Alps touchpad is recognized but synaptics clients and scrolling do not work
Confirm #186
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/550625/comments/186)
works on Ubuntu 10.10 x64 2.6.35-23-generic for vertical scrolling (not
horizontal), however "tap to click" is disabled. I am willing to accept
this for vertical scrolling.
xinput list became:
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint id=13 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Sleep Button id=9 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Dell WMI hotkeys
Where it was originally Generic PS/2.
Attached is my compiled psmouse.ko for anyone who is 10.10 x64 2.6.35-23-generic and wants to give it a shot.
** Attachment added: "psmouse.ko"
