BTW, are you trying to create equivalent to plain text printout? This is
useful for dot matrix printers, if you are using laser or ink printer
you would prefer to format with tabs or table cells... This would do
better result.

we try to print lines with fixed font and multiple spaces
These are reduced to 1 space and henc braks the formatting
any possibility to define preformatted or verbatim?
