Re: Changes to the main branch
Just to keep you updated...
I have created a project and a team for developing individual Screenlets:
https://launchpad.net/indiv-screenlets
https://launchpad.net/~indiv-screenlets-dev
There are some instructions for working with the individual Screenlets
on the team page.
Since Rico has not found time to create a central Screenlets PPA I
created PPA for the individual Screenlets team:
https://launchpad.net/~indiv-screenlets-dev/+archive/all-screenlets
I uploaded debianized versions of all Screenlets included in version
0.1.2 to the PPA. Since all the uploading and debianizing is done by a
script, I can update PPA on daily basis, if this is needed. By now
Julien has daily build of main Screenlets on:
https://launchpad.net/~gilir/+archive/screenlets-daily
But this does not mean, we don't need an official PPA for the project to
distribute more stable versions.
I already wrote to Rico, that it's also essential to update the
documentation on Screenlets.org to lead users to latest versions of
Screenlets and describe how they can participate in the project. At the
moment I cannot do it, because I don't have a write access on these
pages of the wiki. There is hardly a point in just updating the code
without letting users know about the developments. I hope Rico can
gather himself to make those little but important moves.
I will be starting to add/update individual Screenlets from Universal
Applets
lp:~universal-applets-extras-team/universal-applets/universal-applets-extras
branch and elsewhere. I am still not planning to fix and test every
individual Screenlet, I'm just updating the code to the latest versions
available.
And Natan, just to remind you, I think it would be really helpful of you
to look through the Universal Applets code and clean/comment it for
joining with Screenlets main branch (as much as it is possible by now).
