Also check out the messages on https://lists.launchpad.net/screenlets-
dev/ (pay atttention to titles "Status of Screenlets" and "Screenlets
developpement ?"). In nutshell, some of the shortcomings of Screenlets
have been fixed in https://launchpad.net/universal-applets, but the code
there is unstable (and already bit outdated) and needs to be
reviewed/merged manually.
