try the following from a command line:

java -Dsikuli.console=false -jar "c:\Programs\Sikuli X\sikuli-ide.jar"

If there are any crash messages, they will be visible in the cmd-window.

  screenshot "crashes" screen in win xp

Bug description:
  I am using Sikuli X-1.0rc2 on Win XP 32-bit. When I try to make a
  screenshot or a region screenshot my screen (2 screens) looks like on
  the attachment image.
