--- path-path-to-java/jre6/bin
to just test it, I think it is sufficient to put it in the batch file that runs your script.

To make it permanent, you have to go to system settings -> extended
settings -> environment variables and adjust the path entry. So I guess,
this has an entry in the registry in the background (do not know which
one)
