RaiMan proposed the following answer:
Normally this has nothing to do with resolution, since inside a browser
window the images are rendered based on the pixel-by-pixel image
information and should be the same.

Problems might come up, if it is a resolution-aware Flash app (rendering
the same "image" different on different resolutions). In this case,
there is no other chance to solve this, then having different images for
both resolutions.
