Does the PDFViewer.app start in the simulator, if you double-click on
/Users/syntel/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/4.2/Applications/227C829B-B3B8-409D-BF6D-ACC5A8B8D589/PDFViewer.app
in the Finder?
