Seems, I have not been clear enough:
... paste (which internally simply is setting the clipboard to the text and issuing a cltr-v).
I wanted to say, that internally the paste function copies the given
"pre-defined string as argument" to the clipboard and then issues the
keyboard shortcut ctrl-v internally.
This was only a hint, how paste is implemented internally.
