RaiMan proposed the following answer:
the final version should work with an OpenCV 2.4 and Tesseract 3.02
installed in /usr/local/lib or /usr/lib

I am using Ubuntu 13.04, which has OpenCV 2.4 already installed. For
installing Tesseract 3 apt-get install didi it.
