no, you cannot set clipboard with Sikuli currently ( but you might do
that with Java from inside the script).
But that's not what you want to do as I understand:

That's what you can do with paste()
It is simulating internally:
- putting "some text" on the clipboard
-and then doing a ctrl/cmd-v to paste the clipboard text
