Sikuli does not know anything about what is happening, when it clicks some button or whatever.
This is completely up to the system/application, that is intended to get the click action.

Sikuli does not hinder any app to open.

So if nothing happens with the click, then this might have other reasons
(not having focus, blocked somehow, ...).

you have to do some isolated tests with only a one click(), to see what
happens or does not happen.
