I will not do anything for Linux in 1.1.x in this area (running setup from the project using Maven).

So if you want to get it running, you have to dive into the sources and
fix the problems.

I mainly develop on Mac and Windows. For Linux only the downloadable
setup.jar has some basic guarantee to work.
