RaiMan proposed the following answer:
Usually it is sufficient to purge every pointers in system environment, that point to anything belonging to older Sikuli(X) versions.
Same goes for setup information in any non-Sikuli(X) IDE you might use for developement and testing and for any testing frameworks.

I recommend to use the latest 1.1.1 and carefully follow the steps mentioned in "Getting started":
