RaiMan proposed the following answer:
apparently you are running in a special environment setup, because the
relevant envionment variable does not point to your user folder, but to
\\icnas1.cc.ic.ac.uk\sl7516\appdata\Sikulix, which is on some server.

Is it possible for you, to try SikuliX on a private machine?

If not, then I have a possible solution for -come back in case.
