OK, consider it closed, i asked HP and in the end they said it was a 
problem in the firmware and since it wasn't a big
problem they were not going to upgrade the firmware.

Title:
  scan problem with HP 1050 all-in-one printer

Status in Simple Scan:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  if i scan using "photo" (300dpi), scanner starts from the right ends to the left showing the page and goes back to the right ready to scan another page.
  If i choose "text" (150 dpi), scanner from right goes to left quickly (left is the position when printer is off) makes 3 small movement like resetting itself then go back to right and NOW it does a scanning like i wrote in "photo" before.
  Every page i scan at 150 dpi that annoying and crazy behavior repeats. Hope you can help. Thanx.
