Logs at crash time will be in following posts.  Attached is an example
of a blank pdf.  I am also seeing what is described in bug 876135 where
the filters are not named in the save dialog window and say 'untitled
filter'.

Single Page Document Scan using ADF and text option: 
Save as .pdf -> blank pdf (attached)
Save as .jpg ->  good jpg of page

Single Page Document Scan using ADF and photo option: 
Crashed once after scan completed before saving
Save as .pdf -> Second Try -> Good pdf of page
Save as .jpg -> good jpg of page

Two Page Document Scan using ADF and text option: 
Crashed once after scan completed before saving
Save as .pdf -> First try - good looking pdf
second try -> crash
Save as .jpg -> two good looking jpg files

Two Page Document Scan using ADF and photo option: 
Save as .pdf -> 2 tries -> good 2 page pdf
Save as .jpg -> 2 tries -> good 2 jpg files

Single Page Document Scan using flatbed and text option:
Save as .pdf -> 2 tries -> good pdf
Save as .jpg -> 2 tries -> good jpg

Single Page Document Scan using flatbed and photo option:
Save as .pdf -> 2 tries -> good pdf
Save as .jpg -> 2 tries -> good jpg

  simple-scan; not able to save scanned document as pdf

Status in “simple-scan” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Simple-scan failing to save some documents in pdf format.  Tested this
  on two scanners and I can only replicate when more than one page is
  scanned using the scanner with the ADF.  PDF file is created, but is
  empty.  Also seeing problem described in bug #876135 where the save as
  document type filter only showing "Untitled Filter"
