[Bug 931689] Re: HP Photosmart C6180 at 2400 dpi: signal 5 in g_realloc()
Michael Nagel : You can close this bug report. I've tried to scan at
2400dpi today, and the crash cannot be reproduced anymore, on 12.04 up
to date. However, the scan sometime stops before it is complete, and
simple-scan says it can't communicate with the scanner anymore. That's a
old bug I have, I will try to see if I already reported it or if I can
place a new bug report.
Thanks!

Title:
HP Photosmart C6180 at 2400 dpi: signal 5 in g_realloc()
Status in Simple Scan:
Incomplete
Status in “simple-scan” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When trying to scan at 2400dpi with my HP Photosmart C6180 at 2400
dpi, simple-scan crashes before getting any data from the scanner. The
scanner only have time to preheat and then simple-scan crashes. This
is always reproducible.
Scanning at 2400 dpi with xsane works correctly with the same scanner
and produces a valid image file, though xsane does not show a progress
bar and kind of "look like" it is freeze.
This bug is similar to bug #545194 with a previous version of simple-
scan which was entering in a infinite loop with the exact same steps
used to reproduce the bug.
