I have an HP ENVY 4520 printer/scanner. Running Simple Scan 2.32.0.2 on CentOS 6.8 (this seems to be the most recent version of Simple Scan available for this OS).

The HP ENVY scanner is detected, but whatever resolution is selected in Preferences the scan is always at 75dpi (for photos or text).

>From xsane all the resolutions of the scanner can be used.
