If yes, that Module is for kernel < 2.6.31
You are using a newer Kernel > 2.6.31 and that needs the new module from
Norbert Preining.

What Windows? XP, Vista or Windows 7?
Normaly nothing will stop working under windows. You maybe have to boot
twice after using Linux, thats all
You dont have to build the module.
The sony-VGN-Zseries-janitor script does the work for you.
Choose the option to install with the jockey-script.
