Re: Insufficient brightness levels with custom sony-laptop module :-(

Hello,

I own a Sony Vaio Z21X9E and I've installed Gentoo Linux on /dev/sdb.
I've seen that there's no possibility to modify the screen brightness
at all, unless this module
is installed: http://www.logic.at/people/preining/software/sony-laptop-zseries-0.9np6.tar.gz

The problem is that I can't compile and this is the error:

make -C /lib/modules/3.2.6-gentoo/source
SUBDIRS=/usr/src/sony-laptop-zseries-0.9np6 modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-3.2.6-gentoo'

make[2]: *** [/usr/src/sony-laptop-zseries-0.9np6/sony-laptop.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [_module_/usr/src/sony-laptop-zseries-0.9np6] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-3.2.6-gentoo'
make: *** [default] Error 2

Since I would like to adjust the brightness of the screen, could you
please help me to fix this problem?

Cheers,
