Re: Ubuntu 12.04 and vaio module
I just did that a few days ago. Here's what I did (if I remember
correctly). It was easier than I expected.
1) Change your boot option to enable static switching (acpi_osi= trick)
2) Blacklist the nouveau driver, and remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
(don't know if it's necessary).
3) Reboot in speed mode and install the nvidia drivers via the ubuntu
'additional drivers'.
4) If you want enable sony-laptop options for keyboard lighting, etc.
(modinfo sony-laptop)
After that everything works fine for me :) No need for a boot script to
detect what card is active.
