Re: Internal Mic
Hi Craig,
Without choosing a specific model in alsa config, you can get
everything (mostly) to work as it should. I used a package by David
Henningsson, called hda-jack-retask.
You might want to check out our bug report regarding the Vaio Z1x audio
setup. In there you'll find instructions on how to get speakers,
headphones and microphones (internal and external) working. Start
reading at comment #6.
http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/960124
There's no definitive out-of-the-box solution, yet. However, we've made
some progress in identifying every jack. Now we have to find the proper
alsa configuration for our laptops. I still have to make time to look
at the internals (code, architecture, etc.) to have every audio input
and output jack work.
If there are other Z1x owners that recognize these issues and have some
knowledge in Linux audio (kernel, alsa config, etc.), you're help would
be highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Wouter

Well after a bout of good luck, all of a sudden I don't have any
internal microphone showing on my z11.
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and all the latest updates.
Is there a confirmed fix for this? I've tried different model options
in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf.
