Netkort - ekstern ping

Som absolut ny linux-bruger, har jeg forsøgt at installere et netkort
 (d-link DFE-530TX - det jeg lige kunne få fat på). Linux (RedHat 6.1) fik
 fint fat på kortet, og det kommer også med op ved opstart.
 
 Jeg har tildelt det en ip-adresse - hvilken jeg godt kan pinge.

 Mit problem består i, at jeg ikke kan pinge andre ip-adresser, f.eks. min
 nt-workstation eller min printserver (Network is unreachable). Jeg har også
 prøvet at have et 3com kort i - men, samme problem. Hvad kan årsagen hertil
 være, og hvad kan jeg gøre for at afhjælpe det.

ifconfig eth0 up giver svaret: resource is temporarily unavailable
route add default eth0 give svaret: network is down

Tillader mig at vedhæfte dmesg-udtrækket, proc_pci og conf.modules - undrer mig, at netkortet er tildelt irq0
