Summary
Transparent web caching is a technique for forcing HTTP web requests through
a proxy cache server without the need for browser reconfiguration. The
theory of transparent caching is described, and three products which support
the technique are compared - two popular commercial products, and a "cheap"
solution based on the NLANR squid software running on a PC/Linux platform.
Finally we describe in detail how to configure a Linux/squid system.
