apache compile ! -med .htaccess og APXS

Hvordan ser en apache compile ud hvis man skal bruge APXS og .htaccess ?
Jeg har brugt

  ./configure --prefix=/apache --enable-module=so --enable-shared=max


Men .htaccess virker til syneladende ikke...
Jeg har checket for korrekt sti i min .htaccess fil...
Hvad kan jeg mere gøre !?!
